Frederick Frank

Chairman at Slovak American Foundation

Frederick Frank is a founding partner of the Pittsburgh law firm Frank, Gale, Bails, Murcko & Pocrass. Since 2008, he has served as solicitor of the City of Pittsburgh Comprehensive Municipal Pension Trust Fund and is currently commissioner and treasurer of the Pittsburgh Housing Authority and a member of the Joint State (Pennsylvania) Government Commission Domestic Relations Task Force. Mr. Frank has practiced law since 1971, and notable past roles include solicitor for the Allegheny County Treasurer from 1974-1994 and assistant attorney general, Pennsylvania Department of Justice. Mr. Frank has served in numerous distinguished positions on organizational boards and commissions, including as director of the Czech and Slovak American Enterprise Fund from 1998 to 2012 and as director of the Slovak-American Foundation from 2011 to present.

Among his many awards and distinctions, Mr. Frank is the recipient of the President’s 2006 Call to Service Award for service as a director of the Czech-Slovak American Enterprise Fund; the Slovak Ambassador’s Medal of Honor for “outstanding contribution to development of Slovakia’s small and medium size businesses”; the Western Pennsylvania Slovak Cultural Association Business Award; the Friends of Slovakia Medal of Honor; and the U. S. Congress Special Congressional Recognition for service as a director of Czech-Slovak American Enterprise Fund. In addition to his Slovak-related activities, Mr. Frank is also active in numerous Jewish charities and arts organizations. An alumnus of the University of Pittsburgh (bachelor’s and juris doctor), Mr. Frank is an enthusiastic traveler who has visited more than 50 countries.
