Richard Harris

Richard Harris is a seasoned professional in the energy sector with extensive experience in land management. Currently serving as the Regional Land Manager for Utah at SM Energy Company since March 2019, Richard has previously held the positions of Land Manager for the Sweetie Peck project and Sr. Staff Landman. Prior experience includes a tenure at McElvain Energy, Inc. from January 2006 to February 2019, where Richard managed all land department functions, oversaw active drilling programs across the Rockies and Permian Basin, and successfully negotiated over 90 transactions worth more than $96 million since 2011. Richard holds a JD from The George Washington University (2000-2003) and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Baylor University (1996-2000).
