Robert Balcer

Robert Balcer is an accomplished technology engineering manager with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, currently serving at SM Energy Company since September 2014. In the role of Technology Engineering Manager for the Permian Basin and Eagle Ford Shale, Robert acts as a key liaison for emissions detection initiatives and oversees critical surveillance and monitoring projects. Previously, as Production Engineering Manager, Robert achieved significant budgetary successes, delivering projects well under budget while maintaining production goals. Robert's leadership experience includes managing operations in the Rockies region during transitional phases and optimizing performance in the Williston Basin and other shale areas throughout a progressive career that began at Cabot Oil & Gas. An alumnus of Montana Technological University, Robert earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering.
