Jonathan Proffitt

Jonathan Proffitt has an extensive work experience in the renewable energy industry. Jonathan currently serves as the Head of Business Development, Home Solutions at SMA America since 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Board Member at CvilleREA starting in 2017. From 2018 to 2022, Jonathan was the Head of Business Development & Applications Engineering at Lumin. Jonathan also worked as the Director of Business Development and Commercial Sales at Sigora Solar from 2014 to 2018. Before that, they were associated with LEAP (Local Energy Alliance Program) as a Solar Program Manager and Client Relations Specialist. Jonathan also gained teaching and research experience as a Graduate Teaching and Research Assistant at Virginia Tech from 2011 to 2013. Jonathan started their career as an Intern at LEAP in 2012. Prior to their involvement in the renewable energy field, they worked as an Assistant Tennis Professional at ACAC Fitness & Wellness Center from 2004 to 2011.

Jonathan Proffitt earned their Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Mary Washington, where they studied from 2006 to 2010. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning at Virginia Tech from 2011 to 2013. In addition to their formal education, Jonathan also holds a certification in NABCEP PV Technical Sales from the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners.
