Gerd Bettenwort

Bettenwort Gerd has extensive experience in the field of photovoltaics and energy technology, currently serving as Head of Innovation & Technology Lab and Head of Corporate Technology at SMA Solar Technology AG since February 2003. Previous roles at SMA include Director of PV System Technologies and Director of Technology Development for Medium Power. Bettenwort has also led various projects related to PV systems and grid integration. In addition, between April 2021 and June 2024, GGineering served as an Electrical Installer and Consultant, focusing on personal energy transition solutions involving photovoltaic systems. Prior experience includes a role as Quality Manager at Eupec GmbH and as a Development Engineer at Ascom Energy Systems. Education includes a Diplom in Electrical Engineering from Paderborn University, certifications in heat pump systems and digital transformation, among other qualifications.
