The Small & Rural Law Enforcement Executives Association (SRLEEA) is the only 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated solely to supporting and promoting law enforcement executives and agencies that serve small, rural & tribal communities across America. SRLEEA will only focus on the concerns and needs of small, rural & tribal agencies so we strongly encourage you to maintain your membership and relations with your state association and any other specific law enforcement associations you may belong, including the large national associations like the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the National Native American Law Enforcement Association or the National Sheriffs Association. They all offer a level of support and resources that could benefit you and your agency. Together we are all stronger. How we define Small, Rural & Tribal: Small – Any agency with 100 or less sworn employees Rural – Any agency serving a community with a population of less than 200 people per square mile. (based on the U.S. Census Bureau) Tribal – Any federally recognized agency serving a tribal community, band, nation, or other organized group or community of indigenous people of North America, including any Alaska Native village. SRLEEA is dedicated to the support and promotion of efficient law enforcement and to the protection and security of small, rural & tribal communities. Much of our work is through innovative law enforcement leadership and is done through the activities and special projects of a number of committees and through active liaison with various levels of government, departmental agencies and other nonprofit associations. Our programs span a wide range of disciplines that address a multitude of concerns in our criminal justice system. We also participate in the creation and advancement of vital legislative and public policy initiatives that affect small, rural and tribal agencies.
