Owen Hinrichs

Owen Hinrichs is an aspiring industrial designer with a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design from Pratt Institute, complemented by experience in various design and production roles. Currently serving as an Industrial Design Intern at Smart Design since June 2025, Owen previously worked as a CNC Machinist and Production Design Intern at Eittem, crafting luxury wooden bags with precision. Owen's leadership as Co-President of the Pratt IDSA Chapter involved coordinating mentorship and professional development events for peers. Additional internships include positions at ATLASON and View Into The Blue, as well as apprenticeship experience as a fabricator at Colorado Wood & Metal. Early work experiences include managing a lawn care business and serving as a lifeguard. Owen also pursued academic studies at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and Syracuse University, enhancing a strong foundation in design and technical skills.
