Salam Baniahmed

Salam BaniAhmed is an experienced leader in the energy sector, currently serving as the Director at Smart Electric Power Alliance since January 2024. Previously, Salam held the position of Technical Product Manager at Veloce Energy and served as an Engineering Specialist at Eaton, where responsibilities included managing global technology programs and advancing cybersecurity solutions for power systems. Additional roles at Eaton included Lead Engineer, focusing on innovative power systems, and Power Systems Engineer, with a specialty in energy storage and microgrid applications. Salam has contributed to academia as a research assistant at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and as an educational committee chair for IEEE Smart Grid, emphasizing microgrid communications and security. Salam holds a Ph.D. in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and has advanced degrees in Computer Engineering and Engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology and Yarmouk University, respectively.
