John Thedford

John Thedford has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. John currently serves as the Chairman & CEO of Simple Management Group. Prior to that, they founded SMART Financial Operations LLC in 2016, where they also authored the book "Smart Moves Management." Before that, they worked as a partner at Initiative Consulting, where they provided consulting services to consumer finance and retail companies. John also served as a Board Member at Rollins College - Crummer Graduate School of Business from 2009 to 2014. In 2009, they launched FFI Holdings/La Familia Pawn, growing the chain to over 20 stores. John previously founded Value Pawn and Jewelry, expanding it to over 85 store locations and gaining recognition from INC. Magazine as one of the 500 fastest-growing private companies in America. Additionally, they co-founded RENT-RITE, a 90-store chain that was later sold to a strategic buyer.

John Thedford attended Wichita State University from 1982 to 1986, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting. John also holds a certification as a Certified Public Accountant from the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy, although the specific month and year of obtaining the certification are unknown.
