Damiano Massella is a PDK and Design Engineer at SMART Photonics since January 2023, with previous experience as a PhD Student at BRIGHT integrated Photonics from November 2020 to April 2022, focusing on the development of an interface for the Nazca Design framework and designing Quantum Key distribution integrated chips. Prior to that, Damiano worked as a PhD Student at SMART Photonics from September 2019 to November 2020, where the work involved developing a waveguides compact model and simulating Semiconductor optical amplifier gain. An internship at CNR - IFN from February 2017 to November 2018 included presenting research at international conferences and conducting experimental studies on Glass-Ceramic materials. Damiano holds a PhD in Telecommunications Engineering with a focus on Photonics from Universidade de Vigo and has degrees in Experimental Physics and Nanophotonics from Università di Trento.
