Svetlana Pomerans, MS, CSM®

Svetlana Pomerans, MS, CSM® has over 25 years of work experience in the software engineering and quality assurance field. Svetlana began their career in 1993 as a Senior Software Test Engineer, Member of Technical Staff (MTS-4) at Sun Microsystems Inc. / Oracle, where they managed and achieved high quality in planning and implementing complex test projects, and was a member of the Sun Solaris OS products Consolidation Committee. In 2004, they moved to Symantec Corporation / NortonLifeLock, where they held multiple roles, including Senior SQA Engineer, Scrum Master, QA Manager, Project Manager, QA Lead, and Release Manager. In these roles, they provided technical projects leadership and management for multiple large-scale Client-Server and Web products in a waterfall and agile SDLC, and led technical, QA, and infrastructure projects. Svetlana has been with SmartAction since 2019, where they serve as an Operations / Business Analyst / Splunk Consultant. In this role, they research and analyzes product applications data collections in DB and server logs using Splunk to optimize customized projects operations performance reporting and outlines solutions for improvements needed.

Svetlana Pomerans obtained their Master's degree in Computer Science/Applied Mathematics from the State University of Ukraine in Kiev, Ukraine. Svetlana also completed a sequence of courses in Programming Languages and Operating Systems from UCLA Extension, as well as courses in Object Oriented Programming with C++, Relational Database Management and Administration. Additionally, they obtained a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) from the Scrum Alliance and completed courses in Management Excellence, Strategic Project Management, Team Leadership, and Coaching and Mentoring from Harvard Manage Mentor. Svetlana also completed courses in Agile Methodologies and Principles, Agile Scrum Framework, and Agile Software Development from SkillSoft, as well as courses in Network Administration, JAVA, Solaris Administration and Internals, and Solaris Unix Interfaces from Sun Microsystems University. Furthermore, they obtained certifications in Agile Software Development, Project Management Foundations [2016], and Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) from LinkedIn in June 2019.
