Robbie Washington

Robbie Washington serves as Senior Vice President, Community Reinvestment Act Officer and Director of HMDA and Community Reinvestment Act Reporting at SmartBank. She graduated from The University of Alabama in 1986 with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting as a Presidential Scholar. Her career began in as a Bank Examiner with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta, followed by several years with the Department of the Treasury in the Office of Thrift Supervision, where she earned certification and an appointment as a Federal Thrift Regulator. Prior to her current role, Washington served SmartBank as Senior Vice President, Director of Compliance and boasts 25 years of experience in the banking industry beginning as the Senior Accountant, and later the Controller at Security Federal Savings Bank in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and the Regional Lending Compliance Officer at Capstone Bank. In addition to her involvement in numerous nonprofit, civic, and service organizations, she served as a member of the inaugural Supervisory Committee of the Stillman Community Development Credit Union and currently sits on the Boards of the Tuscaloosa Education Foundation and Project B.E.T.H.E.L.
