Nirupa Mathew

Nirupa Mathew serves as the Deputy Executive Program Officer for Content for Teaching and Learning at Smarter Balanced since October 2023, following nearly a decade at Curriculum Associates, where roles included Associate Director and Project Supervisor. Nirupa's experience encompasses leading culturally and linguistically responsive research initiatives, designing teacher internship programs, and managing comprehensive assessment strategies. Prior roles involved extensive collaboration with editorial teams and contributions to diversity and inclusion efforts within the organization. Before Curriculum Associates, Nirupa worked as an Educational Math Consultant and began a career in education as a teacher at Swift Elementary School. Academic qualifications include a Master of Science in Elementary Education from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
