Elizabeth "Biz" Yarbrough has held a variety of roles in the environmental field since 2008. Elizabeth "Biz" began their career as a Recycling Worker at Texas State University in 2008, and then worked as an Environmental Technician, HHW City of San Marcos at Green Guy Recycling in 2010. In 2011, they held two roles, as a Physical Geography Lab Coordinator at Texas State University and a Graduate Assistant, NPDES data entry at TCEQ Compliance Service. Elizabeth "Biz" also worked as a Wilderness Ranger at the U.S. Forest Service in 2012. In 2013, they were an Organic Gardening Center Assistant Manager at Garden-Ville. In 2016, they worked as an Environmental Program Specialist at the City of Austin. Since 2017, they have held four roles at Smarter Sorting, including Data Operation Manager, Data and Research Analyst, Regulatory and Environmental, Onboarding Specialist and Senior Trainer, and Facilities Manager and Logistics Coordinator.

Elizabeth "Biz" Yarbrough holds a MAG-Masters of Applied Geography from Texas State University, which they obtained in 2017. Elizabeth "Biz" also holds a Bachelors Degree in BS Geography-Resource and Environmental Studies from Texas State University, which they obtained in 2009. Additionally, they are certified in Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) 40 Hour from OSHA, which they obtained in 2010, and Wilderness First Aid and CPR certified from WFA.
