John Knight

John Knight is an experienced IT professional with a strong background in infrastructure, security, and enterprise applications. Currently serving as VP Infrastructure and Security at SmartBank since July 2021, responsibilities include leading teams in the development and enhancement of IT systems as well as managing IT security operations. Previous roles include VP and AVP of Enterprise Applications at SmartBank and the University of Tennessee System, where John ensured optimal performance and alignment with business objectives. With a diverse work history spanning over two decades in various IT management positions across multiple organizations, including Lirio and Newport Utilities, John has consistently focused on improving IT service delivery, modernizing infrastructure, and overseeing critical projects. John holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, and Operations from Tennessee Wesleyan University and an Associate of Science in Computer Science from Pellissippi State Community College.
