Mark Adams

Mark Adams joined SMART Global Holdings, Inc. as President and Chief Executive Officer in August of 2020. With a proven track record of leading large semiconductor and computing companies, his industry knowledge and breadth of experience is well-suited to lead SMART.

Most recently, Mr. Adams held the role of Chief Executive Officer at Lumileds, Inc., a leading developer of LED light engine technology. Prior to Lumileds, Mr. Adams served as President of Micron Technology, Inc., a global leader of memory solutions. While at Micron, he also served in a number of leadership positions, including Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Vice President of Digital Media. Prior to joining Micron, Mr. Adams held various senior positions as he served as Chief Operating Officer of Lexar Media, Inc.; as Vice President of Sales and Marketing of Creative Labs, Inc.; and he managed major account sales for the enterprise server business at NCR Corporation.

Mr. Adams currently serves on the boards of Seagate Technology PLC (Nasdaq: STX) and Cadence Design Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CDNS). In addition, Mr. Adams is a co-founder investor and serves on the board of directors for Whistle Sports, Inc., branded Team Whistle, a leading youth-focused, digital media company.

Mr. Adams holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Boston College and an MBA from Harvard University.
