Gunther Thiel

Gunther Thiel has an extensive work experience spanning several decades in various roles and positions. Gunther currently holds the role of CTO Web3 at SmartMedia Technologies, a position they have held since 2022. Prior to this, Gunther was the Co-founder and CTO at BLOCKv starting from 2017. Gunther also co-founded and served as CTO at vAtomic Systems, Inc. in 2016. Gunther was the CEO of Cloudintel GmbH from 2014. Earlier, they worked as the Head of Cloud Products & Technology and a member of the Executive Board at Swisscom IT Services from 2013 to 2014. Gunther held business development roles at NetApp from 2011 to 2012 and served as CTO and CEO at SmApper Technologies from 2004 to 2011. Gunther also worked at NetApp as a Manager Solution Sales Central EMEA and Marketing Manager Central EMEA from 2000 to 2004. Prior to that, Gunther held various positions at Schluesselverlag J. S. Moser GmbH, including Information Officer and Manager IT & SW Development from 1990 to 2000. Gunther began their career as an Editor at Tiroler Tageszeitung in 1987, marking their entry into the professional world.

Gunther Thiel earned a Master's degree in Economics from MCI | The Entrepreneurial School in 2001.
