Haishan Liu

Haishan Liu is the current VP of Engineering for Ads at SmartNews, overseeing the engineering team for the company's rapidly expanding ad platform, which includes various components such as ad serving, prediction models, and audience targeting. Prior experience includes serving as Director of Engineering at Twitter, where Liu led machine learning and product engineering efforts to enhance ad products, and as Director of Engineering at Tencent, managing a team that launched successful shopping ad products contributing significantly to the company’s revenue. Previous roles at LinkedIn involved developing machine learning algorithms and optimizing ad revenue. Liu holds a Ph.D. in Computer and Information Science from the University of Oregon and a Bachelor's degree in Information Security Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
