Heidi Akers is the Founder and CEO of SMARTSAT INC., a position held since November 1995. In addition to leading SMARTSAT INC., Heidi serves as a Board Member for the YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg since July 2015 and was a member of the Scholarship Committee for Women In Defense from 2014 to 2016. Prior experience includes serving as the Public Relations and Marketing Manager for Raytheon from April 1988 to October 1995. Heidi holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications with a focus on Marketing and Public Relations from the University of South Florida, where studies were completed between 1991 and 1995.
