Antoni Tong

Antoni Tong is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in energy systems and sustainable transportation. As the Founder and CEO of Smartville Inc. since February 2019, Antoni has led the development of innovative solutions for scalable electric vehicle battery assessment and logistics, fostering a collaborative platform for battery data utilization. Prior to this, Antoni served as a Research Scientist at UC San Diego from July 2014 to March 2023, where responsibilities included leading research projects on energy storage systems and their integration with the grid. Antoni began a career as a Graduate Student Researcher at UC Davis, focusing on fuel cells and battery management systems, and notably designed a community-scale nano-grid for renewable energy applications. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Energy System Control from the University of California, Davis, a project at UC Berkeley, and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Zhejiang University.
