Hassan Brown, EdLD, serves as the Chief Innovation Officer at SMASH, overseeing the development of a comprehensive learning ecosystem tailored for college and career readiness. Additionally, Hassan founded Career Catalyst, an edtech startup designed to inspire BIPOC youth towards STEM careers, which is now integrated into SMASH programming. With extensive advisory roles across several organizations including EliteGamingLIVE, Dreami, SecondMuse, Enlightapp, and VRsatility, Hassan contributes to educational innovation and inclusivity. Previous positions include Director at Harvard GSE Innovation & Ventures in Education, Education Portfolio Doctoral Resident at New Profit, and Teaching Fellow at Harvard University. Hassan's educational background includes a Doctor of Education Leadership from Harvard University and various degrees in education and psychology from Hunter College, John Jay College, and Morehouse College.

SMASH provides an intensive and holistic computer science-focused education to dedicated students of color who seek equal access to college and career readiness resources. Our mission is to build a strong, diverse and socially conscious tech workforce by leveling the playing field through academic learning and experiential engagement for high school and college students. SMASH’s two leading programs are: - SMASH Residential, our flagship program, provides high school students across the nation with a tuition-free, residential educational experience for each of their three summers during high school. With programs at 5 campuses, SMASH Residential works to ensure that Scholars have the computer science knowledge and problem-solving skills needed to succeed in college and beyond. - SMASH Virtual is an online platform that provides students early exposure to CS/emerging technology topics and career professionals.
