Matthew Mara

Matthew Mara is an experienced executive in the banking industry, currently serving as Executive Director of Credit Administration at SMBC MANUBANK since August 2021, overseeing credits and related functions for the Southern California Commercial groups. Prior to this role, Matthew held the position of Senior Vice President and Credit Administrator at California Bank & Trust from March 2014 to August 2021, where responsibilities included approving all commercial banking client credit needs. Matthew's career at California Bank & Trust began in March 2003 as Vice President in middle market banking, focusing on companies with revenues between $10MM and $250MM. Matthew also worked as Vice President at Comerica Bank from December 1999 to March 2003, managing relationships and generating new business for middle market companies. Earlier experience includes roles at Mellon 1st Business Bank and Bank of America, where foundational training occurred in management and credit officer programs. Matthew holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from UCLA, completed from 1979 to 1984.
