Mohammad Azam

Mohammad Azam is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in risk management and investment at prestigious financial institutions. Currently serving as the Group Chief Risk Officer at SME Bank Malaysia since August 2019, Mohammad previously held the title of Head of Risk Management for Group Global Banking at Maybank from August 2012 to July 2019. Prior roles include Senior Manager of Operational Risk and Compliance at Scope International (M) Sdn Bhd, and several key positions at Bank Negara Malaysia, where responsibilities encompassed managing international reserves and investment portfolios. Mohammad's academic credentials include a Master of International Finance from The University of Queensland and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
