Mr. Nobuyuki Kawabata is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fullerton India. Currently, he is the Managing Executive Officer and Deputy Head of the International Banking Unit of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) from April 1, 2019. He had been CEO of the Americas Division and Managing Executive Officer of SMBC since April 1, 2016, and was appointed Managing Executive Officer of Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group (SMFG) on April 1, 2017.
Mr. Kawabata has more than 35 years of banking experience in different areas and roles. He has been instrumental in tripling revenue and expanding new business of Americas division, introducing Hedge Fund/ PE Fund in Tokyo, establishing of Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group (SMFG), a holding company of which SMBC is a wholly-owned subsidiary, multiple other merging and acquisitions.
Mr. Kawabata holds a B.A. degree in Tokyo University of Foreign Studies.
