Patrick Singer is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in development and editorial management. Currently serving as the Director of Development for The Pygmalion Festival since June 2013, Patrick also holds the positions of Managing Editor and Music Editor at Smile Politely Magazine, where responsibilities include managing and designing content, enhancing social media engagement, and mentoring a team of writers. Previously, Patrick worked as a Marketing Graduate Assistant at Eastern Illinois University, focusing on innovative marketing strategies and social media engagement. Additional experience includes serving as Music Director at WPGU, where recognition included the Tom Thomas Award, as well as internships with Emmis Communications and the University of Illinois Foundation, culminating in significant fundraising achievements. Patrick holds a Master's degree in Communication Studies from Eastern Illinois University and a Bachelor's degree in Media Studies from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Smile Politely is Champaign-Urbana's independent online magazine. We provide the community with a passionate, trustworthy, informed point of view on local music, arts, culture, food+drink, sports, politics and news.
