Jelmer Tick has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Jelmer is currently working at Smile as the PXM Community of Practice lead for International, where they focus on building and leading the Product eXperience Management Community of Practice. Prior to this, Jelmer worked at Smile Benelux as a Solution Consultant, helping customers assess their needs and find the best software solutions. Jelmer also served as a Project Manager, overseeing the delivery of Magento/Akeneo/Drupal platforms and managing client relationships. Before joining Smile, Jelmer worked at Bunzl Retail & Industry Nederland as a Product Owner, Project Coordinator, and E-Business employee, where they were responsible for implementing new technology and coordinating webshops. Jelmer also gained experience in customer service and management assistance roles. Jelmer's earlier career includes positions at King Nederland BV (Bunzl), Nestlé Nespresso S.A., Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc., Stenden university hotel, and Kasteel Engelenburg.
Jelmer Tick completed a Bachelor's degree (BBA) in International Hospitality Management from Stenden University from 2007 to 2011. They also attended ROC Aventus from 2003 to 2007, where they earned a College degree in Hospitality Management. In terms of additional certifications, Jelmer obtained various certifications in Change Management, including being a trained facilitator in the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® REAL TIME CHANGE® method from Inthrface in 2024. They also obtained certifications in Akeneo Implementation Specialist, Professional Scrum Product Owner™ I, e-Academy Professional, Targit Fundamentals, Science of Coffee, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, SVH Sociale Hygiene, and Wine certificate SWEN 2.
