Harsha Harshavardhana

Chief Scientist at Smirta Innovations

Harsha Harshavardhana has extensive work experience in the field of technology and research. Harsha began their career at Alcatel-Lucent, Bell Labs, where they worked as a Technical Manager and made significant contributions to traffic engineering and network research. Harsha then joined VPIsystems as the CTO/VP of Advanced Development, where they played a key role in the company's technology development and U.S. operations. Harsha went on to work at JHU/APL, where they served as the Head of a Research Group and Chief Scientist, overseeing various research projects in network management and other areas. Harsha later became the President & CEO of TransCloud Networks, where they invented SmartFlow, a novel enhancement to IP shortest path routing. Currently, Harsha is working at Smirta Inc. as the Chief Scientist, focusing on modeling, analysis, and optimization of cancer treatment operations to improve patient experience and clinic efficiency.

Harsha Harshavardhana completed their Bachelor of Technology degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Electronics from IITM between 1975 and 1980. Harsha then pursued further education and obtained their Ph.D. in EE Control Systems from the University of Southern California from 1980 to 1984.
