Eric Schmitz

Eric Schmitz has a diverse work experience in the manufacturing industry. Eric started their career at Dana Corporation in 1997, where they served as a Quality Engineer & Supervisor and later as a Quality Manager. During their time at Dana Corporation, Eric was responsible for responding to customer concerns, coordinating QS9000 activities, and maintaining certification. Eric also represented the Quality Department in APQP activities and participated in FMEA teams.

In 2002, Eric joined Smith Brothers Of Berne, Inc. as a Quality Manager and later took on the role of Product Development Manager. In these positions, they developed a Quality Department, coordinated all quality department activities, and established a material testing lab. As a Product Development Manager, Eric guided new design efforts and coordinated with various departments to launch new products.

Most recently, Eric served as the Director of Engineering at Smith Brothers Of Berne, Inc. Eric led the planning team to launch a new factory in Fort Wayne, IN and coordinated efforts with the building contractor and internal team. Eric also oversaw equipment ordering, layout development, and material flow planning between the main factory and the new factory.

Eric Schmitz attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 1989 to 1993 and obtained a BS degree in Industrial Engineering. Additionally, they pursued another BS degree in Industrial Engineering from the same institution, although the specific years of their enrollment are unknown.
