Jonathan Paine

Jonathan Paine, CAE has extensive work experience in various associations and industry organizations. Jonathan began their career in 2004 as a Senior Program Manager at the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, where they focused on advocating for a positive legislative and regulatory environment. In 2009, Jonathan joined the National Structured Settlements Trade Association as a Membership and Operations Coordinator. Jonathan then moved to SmithBucklin in 2009 as the Director of the Business + Trade Industry Practice, providing services like thought leadership, technical expertise, and education program management to trade and professional associations. In 2010, Jonathan held two roles simultaneously, as the Chief Operations Officer at the Window & Door Manufacturers Association and the Membership and Operations Manager at the American Bearing Manufacturers Association. In 2014, they became the President and CEO of the National Lumber & Building Material Dealers Association, where they played a crucial role in advocating for the industry with federal legislators and regulatory agencies. Jonathan's most recent role is as the Executive Director of the National Association of Local Housing Finance Agencies, a position they have held since 2017. In this role, they advocate for affordable housing finance and provides technical assistance and educational opportunities to members and the public.

Jonathan Paine, CAE, holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Government/Law from Suffolk University, which they obtained from 1999 to 2003. Before that, they attended Brockton High School from 1995 to 1999. In addition to their formal education, they have also obtained various certifications such as Adult, Child and Baby First Aid/CPR/AED from the American Red Cross in November 2023, and the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation from ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership in December 2017. Jonathan has also completed courses such as the Association Creative Marketing Masterclass, Association Membership Growth Course, and the Leadership Learning Forum.
