Christopher Winnie is a seasoned mechanical engineer and educator with extensive experience in plumbing engineering and design. Currently serving as the Vice President of Legislative Affairs at the American Society of Plumbing Engineers since July 2021, Christopher also imparts knowledge as an Adjunct Professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology, teaching a plumbing engineering design course based on the 2018 International Building Code. With a background as a Mechanical Engineer III at SmithGroup since April 2017, Christopher has designed plumbing and medical gas systems for healthcare projects among various market sectors. Previous experience includes a mechanical engineer role at Wcw Engineers Inc., where Christopher contributed to construction documents across 34 states, and a senior design team position at NASA, tasked with developing a radiation barrier design for lunar missions. Christopher holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering, earned in 2012.
