Sherry Zhang

Sherry Zhang has extensive work experience in the field of data engineering. Sherry is currently working as the Director of Data Engineering at SmithRx since April 2023. Prior to that, they held the position of Senior Manager, Data Engineering at Affirm, Inc. from February 2021 to April 2023. At Affirm, they focused on expanding fair and transparent access to credit through exceptional data engineering work.

Before their role at Affirm, Sherry worked at Slack as a Senior Engineering Manager, Data from July 2019 to November 2020. In this position, they managed the Data Modeling and Architecture team and collaborated closely with data scientists, engineers, and product owners to transform product data into valuable insights.

Sherry also has experience working at Oracle as a Senior Manager (Principal) Data Warehouse & Business Intelligence from May 2012 to July 2019. In this role, they managed the demo services data warehouse and business intelligence reporting. Sherry designed data integration pipelines, collaborated with cross-functional teams, and delivered data insights for sales engineering demo services.

Earlier in their career, Sherry worked at athenahealth (previous Epocrates) in various roles. Sherry served as the Manager of Data Warehouse & Reporting from February 2008 to September 2011, where they managed the data warehouse team and supported BI analytics functions. Sherry also worked as a Senior Database Developer from January 2005 to February 2008, where they designed and developed a financial data warehouse system and collaborated closely with product management and stakeholders on database development and data integration.

Sherry Zhang pursued their Master's degree in Computer Science from 1994 to 1996 at Loyola University Chicago. Sherry later attended UC Berkeley Extension in 2015, where they studied Organizational Leadership.
