Dan Winker

Dan Winker is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in embedded firmware for medical devices. Currently serving as a Senior Software Engineer at Smiths Medical MD since November 2004, Dan specializes in information security, model-based design using Matlab/Simulink, VxWorks, and lightweight communication protocols. Prior to this role, Dan worked as a Senior Systems Engineer at QLogic from 1999 to 2004, focusing on automated testing and structured test design. From 1990 to 1999, Dan was a Senior Software Engineer at B.F. Goodrich Aerospace, where responsibilities included firmware development and documentation for a DO-178B Level A stall protection computer. Dan holds a Master of Science in Software Engineering from the University of St. Thomas and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
