Tyler Carlson

Tyler Carlson is a Senior Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in the medical device industry, currently at ICU Medical since January 2022 and previously at Smiths Medical from November 2015. In the role at ICU Medical, Tyler serves as the technical lead for the development of infusion consumables, focusing on design improvements, data analysis, and mentoring engineers. At Smiths Medical, Tyler progressed from Mechanical Engineer I to Senior Mechanical Engineer, managing projects that enhance product reliability through cross-functional collaboration and advanced testing methods. Prior experience includes research and development roles at the University of Minnesota Duluth and positions at Northern Tool + Equipment and Princeton Auto Center, providing a diverse background in engineering and customer service. Tyler holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, obtained in 2015, and has foundational education from Anoka-Ramsey Community College.
