Lauren Appelbaum

Lauren Appelbaum has extensive experience in the museum and cultural sector, currently serving as the International Program Manager at the Smithsonian Institution since August 2014. In this role, Lauren has co-led the USAID My Armenia program, enhancing museum operations and visitor engagement across ten regional museums in Armenia. Previous positions include Gallery Intern at International Arts & Artists, where Lauren facilitated art installations and public events, and Clement Ellis Conger Intern at The Society of the Cincinnati, managing collections and contributing to documentation efforts. Additional internships include work with the National Trust for Historic Preservation and the Michael C. Carlos Museum. Lauren holds an MA in Museum Studies from The George Washington University and a BA in English and Art History from Emory University.
