Robert Ritter is an experienced professional in advancement and institutional relations, currently serving as the Senior Director of Advancement at the Smithsonian Institution since January 2002. Ritter has also held various leadership roles within the Smithsonian, including Director of Institutional Relations, Director of Corporate Relations, Director of External Affairs, and Development Officer. Prior to this, Ritter worked as a Brand Manager at Getty Images from April 1997 to July 2000. Ritter holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from UCLA, where studies were completed between 1992 and 1997, and has educational foundations from Northern High School and The Peddie School.
