Sharise Johnson is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in strategic planning, public relations, and media management. As the Founder and CEO of SMJ Communications Consultants since September 2017, Sharise leads initiatives that enhance the storytelling and audience engagement for education, nonprofit, and small business clients. Prior to this role, Sharise held significant positions at IDEA Public Schools as Senior Director and Director of Communications, where responsibilities included managing internal and external communications strategies and brand stewardship. At Teach For America, Sharise rose to Managing Director of National Communications, successfully leveraging media for organizational goals. Additional experience includes roles at Atlanta Public Schools, AT&T, KJRH, and WHOV-FM, combining skills in video production, event coordination, and community engagement. Sharise holds a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism from Hampton University and an M.A. in Integrated Global Communication from Kennesaw State University.
