SMU Mustangs
Joey Kagan is a current Basketball Manager for the SMU Mustangs and an IHSA Certified Baseball Umpire with the Home Plate Umpires Association since April 2017, officiating games for youth players in the Chicago area. Joey's internship experience includes positions at Barstool Sports as an intern in May 2024, Belgravia Group Ltd. as a Finance Intern in July 2023, and Chicago Fire FC as a Partnership Marketing Intern in the summer of 2022. Additionally, Joey served as Rush Chair for the Alpha Epsilon Pi--Tau Chi Chapter from April 2022 to July 2023, and worked as a Marketing Assistant at Crossfit CE, focusing on data analytics to enhance marketing strategies. Joey is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Applied Physiology and Sports Management at Southern Methodist University, expected to graduate in May 2025, following prior education at Wolcott College Preparatory High School and Francis W. Parker School.
