Deepak Aswani has a diverse work experience in various engineering roles. Deepak is currently working at SMUD as a Supervising Principal Engineer in the Research & Development department. Prior to this, they served as a Senior Engineer in Energy Storage & Distributed Energy Resources at SMUD. Deepak also worked as a Project Manager in Electric Transportation at SMUD. Before joining SMUD, Deepak was a Business Operations Manager at American Governor Company. Deepak founded Biodynamic Systems and worked there as the Founder. Deepak began their career at Ford Motor Company, where they worked as a Hybrid Electric Vehicle Research Engineer and later as a Powertrain Controls Engineer/Research Assistant.

Deepak Aswani obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management in 2008-2009. Prior to that, they pursued a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) specializing in Control Systems Engineering at the University of Michigan from 2002 to 2003. Deepak completed their undergraduate education at the University of Michigan as well, earning a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) between 1998 and 2001.
