Laura Lewis

Laura Lewis is the current Chief Legal and Government Affairs Officer at SMUD. Laura has held this position since January 2014. Prior to that, they served as the Chief Assistant General Counsel at SMUD from January 2011 to December 2013. Laura began their career at Sacramento Municipal Utility District in July 2002 as a Senior Attorney and later became an Associate at Davis Wright Tremaine, LLP in November 1999. Laura returned to Sacramento Municipal Utility District in December 1997 where they served as an Attorney until November 1999.

Laura Lewis attended the University of the Pacific - McGeorge School of Law, where they earned their Doctor of Law (JD) degree. Laura also attended the University of California at San Diego.

Laura Lewis works with Jennifer Davidson - Chief Financial Officer, Scott Martin - Chief Strategy Officer, and Lora Anguay - Chief Zero Carbon Officer. Laura Lewis reports to Paul Lau, Chief Executive Officer and General Manager.
