Josep Lecha has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Josep began their career in 1985 at Ocaso, where they worked as an Administrative Assistant and later as an IBM S/36 Operator. Josep then joined AkzoNobel in 1989 as a Software Programmer and later served as an Information Technology Analyst and IT Manager. In 1997, they moved to Monsanto Company, where they worked as an IT Manager for Spain, Portugal, and Greece until 2001. From 2002 to 2007, Lecha worked at Alcoa, where they held roles as the European BU IT Manager and the European IT Lead for the Packaging & Consumer Group. Since 2007, they have been with Smurfit Kappa, initially serving as the IT Director for Corporate & Corrugated Spain, Portugal, and Morocco. Josep then progressed to become the Global Director of Infrastructure and is currently the Global Director of Business Engagement.
Josep Lecha has a diverse education history. Josep completed the Smurfit Kappa Open Leadership Programme at INSEAD from 2018 to 2022, focusing on Organizational Leadership. In 2017, they attended Smurfit Kappa's Value Selling Program (VSP), specializing in Sales, Distribution, and Marketing Operations. In 2015, they received training in Negotiation Skills from Scotwork Negotiation Skills. Previously, in 2006 and 2007, they participated in Alcoa's ELED Leadership Programme, earning a degree in Alcoa Emerging Leader Education Development, emphasizing Organizational Leadership. Josep also obtained a First Certificate in English Language and Literature/Letters from the British Council in 2001. Additionally, they pursued an Executive MBA at IE Business School in 2000, focusing on Business Administration and Management. Prior to that, they completed a PG Master in Management of Information Technologies at Universitat Ramon Llull in 1996 and attained a Diplomate in Information Technology from the University of Cambridge between 1992 and 1995.
