Ahmed El Baz

Ahmed El Baz is a Senior Software Engineering Manager at Snap Inc., leading the Service Mesh Compute and Network infrastructure team since May 2016. Under Ahmed's leadership, the team focuses on transforming Snap's infrastructure to a service-oriented architecture through a secure, multi-cloud service mesh platform. Previously, Ahmed worked at Microsoft from June 2008 to May 2016, progressing from a Software Development Engineer to a Senior Software Development Engineer, with significant contributions to Microsoft Azure's IaaS and PaaS offerings, including the Azure Compute Resource provider and HDInsight. Ahmed began a career in software development at Mentor Graphics, where a high-speed Ethernet simulation solution was implemented. Ahmed holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from The American University in Cairo, earned in 2006.
