John Newman

John Newman is an accomplished architect with extensive experience in the field. As the Director at Snøhetta since April 2019, John leads innovative design projects. Prior to this role, John served as Principal at Diller Scofidio + Renfro, where key projects included Tower D and the Culture Shed at Hudson Yards, alongside various residential and commercial developments. From 1995 to 2014, John was a Partner at Lindsay Newman Architecture and Design, overseeing notable works such as the Liberty National Clubhouse and guesthouses. Earlier experience includes positions as Project Architect at Gwathmey Siegel & Associates, Senior Designer/Technical Coordinator at Skidmore Owings & Merrill LLP, and Residency Intern at Frank O. Gehry & Associates. John holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from The University of Texas at Austin, earned between 1980 and 1986.
