Vivian Hawkins serves as the Epidemiology and Informatics Manager at Snohomish County Health Department since June 2023. Concurrently, Vivian holds the position of Affiliate Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at the University of Washington, where a graduate-level course on surveillance and decision-making in public health has been developed and taught since 2017. Prior to the current roles, Vivian was the Deputy Director of the Office of Communicable Disease Epidemiology at the Washington State Department of Health from November 2013 to June 2023, contributing significant expertise in infection prevention, data analysis, and public health guidance. Debuting in the field in various epidemiologist roles since 2009, Vivian’s academic achievements include multiple degrees from the University of Washington, culminating in a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology, supported by a strong foundation in biology from St. Mary's College of Maryland.
