Laura Abernethy has a diverse work experience, beginning with a Graduate Trainee Journalist position at Independent News & Media in 2015. From there, they moved on to become an Assistant Online Editor at the Press Association in 2016. In 2018, they took on the role of Assistant Lifestyle Editor at Metro.co.uk, before becoming Deputy News and Lifestyle Editor at Jam Press in 2021. Currently, they work as a Lead Finance Writer at Snoop and as a Freelance Journalist. In addition, Laura has held various positions in the past, such as Blogger at Guardian Students in 2013, News Editor and News Sub-editor at The Saint, and Media Intern and Intern at the Admissions Department of the University of St Andrews and The Sunday Times, respectively.
Laura Abernethy completed a Master's Degree in Print Journalism from The University of Sheffield between 2014 and 2015. Prior to that, they obtained an MA (hons) 2:1 in Laura'story from the University of St. Andrews between 2010 and 2014. Before that, they achieved A Levels in Laura'story, Government and Politics, and English Literature from The Wallace High School, Lisburn between 2003 and 2010.
