Rachel Thompson

Chief Medical Officer at Snoqualmie Valley Hospital

Dr. Thompson joined Snoqualmie Valley Hospital after serving as Swedish Health Services’ Executive Medical Director responsible for building and leading the Swedish Regional Acute Care Division. Prior to joining Swedish, Dr. Thompson served as Professor and Chief of Hospital Medicine and Medical Director for Clinical Care Transitions at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She maintains an Adjunct Professorship there. Prior to her work in Nebraska, she served 13 years on faculty in General Internal Medicine at Harborview Medical Center, developing programs and education in Medicine Consultation. Dr. Thompson is in her fourth year on the national Board of the Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM) and has been actively involved with SHM Chapter development locally and nationally since 2008. Dr. Thompson earned her BA in Biology & Psychology from Amherst College, and received her MD and MPH degrees from the University of Washington.
