Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Snorkel AI

Ashwini Ramamoorthy has a diverse work experience in different roles and industries. Ashwini has most recently been working at Snorkel AI, starting as a Machine Learning Engineer in September 2021 and later becoming a Senior Machine Learning Engineer in April 2023. Prior to Snorkel AI, they worked at Amazon One as an Applied Scientist from August 2019 to August 2021.

Before joining Amazon One, Ashwini had experience at Stanford University where they worked as a Research Assistant from October 2018 to May 2019. Ashwini also served as a Course Assistant for the popular course "CS229: Machine Learning" taught by Professor Andrew Ng from September 2018 to December 2018.

In addition, Ashwini co-founded Scopi, a nasoendoscope designed for use in developing countries. This venture was part of the Design for Extreme Affordability course and involved collaboration with the NGO Smile Train. Ashwini was involved with Scopi from January 2018 to May 2019.

Furthermore, Ashwini gained industry experience as a Sensor Engineer Intern at Amazon Lab126 from June 2018 to August 2018. During this internship, they worked on developing gesture recognition algorithms for devices with limited processing power and contributed to the successful proof-of-concept for a new product feature.

Lastly, Ashwini had a research internship at The Johns Hopkins University in 2015, where they worked with Professor Reza Shadmehr at the Computational Motor Control Lab. Ashwini'swork involved studying human motor control through statistical analysis, neurophysiology, and experiments with robotic setups.

Overall, Ashwini has a solid background in machine learning, research, and engineering, with experience in both academic and industry settings.

Ashwini Ramamoorthy holds a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, which they obtained from 2017 to 2019. Prior to that, they pursued a B.Tech & M.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras from 2012 to 2017.
