Alex Benini

Engineering Manager at Snowplow

Alex Benini is currently the engineering manager at Snowplow Analytics. Prior to that, they were the lead mobile engineer at Rail Europe from May 2018 to November 2019. There, they led the development of the Loco2 app (now Rail Europe) and worked on various improvements in order to grant fast loading and reliability of the embedded web content collaborating with a cross functional team. From May 2016 to May 2018, Alex worked as a senior software engineer at Six to Start. There, they worked with the full responsibility of the most important app of the company, “Zombies Run”, with more than 10000 active users every day. Alex inherited the huge codebase and drove many design decisions and refactoring in the app dealing with the huge legacy. As a part of a fully remote senior team, they developed from scratch another couple of apps: “Racelink” and “Zombies Run 5k”, with great results in term of reliability and respect of requirements and deadlines.

Alex Benini has a Master's Degree cum Laude in Information and Communication Technologies Engineering from Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna. Alex also has a Bachelor's Degree in Scientific, Computer Science from Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna.
