Gizachew Zeleke

Gizachew Zeleke is an experienced professional in the fields of electrical engineering and renewable energy, currently serving as a Mini-Grid Development Fund (MDF) Advisor at SNV since May 2022. Previously, Gizachew worked at GIZ EnDev as a Project Coordinator and Solar Energy Advisor, contributing to project management and solar market development from January 2018 to May 2022. Earlier roles include Senior Electrical Engineer IV and Energy Director at the Amhara Water, Irrigation & Energy Development Bureau, where significant achievements included designing solar-powered water pumping systems for over 100 projects and managing project funds. Gizachew's background also encompasses early career experience as an Electromechanical Engineer and a TVET Teacher in the Amhara National Regional State. Educational qualifications include an MSc in Communication Systems Engineering and a BSc in Electrical Engineering from Bahir Dar University, along with a Project Design Certification from ITCILO, Turin University, Italy.
