Maria Casas has extensive experience in strategic partnerships, business development, and grant management. Maria has worked in various organizations, including SNV, myAgro, Educo ONG, Plan International España, ChildFund Spain-Educo, Paz y Desarrollo, UNESCO, Care International, CONEMUND, and Interarts Foundation. Throughout their career, Maria has been involved in tasks such as lead preparations for opportunities, coordinating proposal submissions, researching funding opportunities, building relationships with donors, coordinating grants, and reporting to donors. Maria has also been responsible for project coordination, stakeholder engagement, drafting funding strategies, and managing project activities and budgets. Maria has demonstrated expertise in the development and implementation of projects focused on areas such as social development, women's empowerment, education, child protection, and cultural cooperation.

Maria Casas has a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Universitat de Barcelona, which they obtained from 1997 to 2002. Maria later earned a Master's degree in "Crossing the Mediterranean, towards investment and cooperation (M.I.M)" with a focus on International development, Human Rights, migration and policies, and cultural mediation from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona between 2005 and 2006. In 2015, Maria completed an advanced course in Child Rights-based approaches at Human Rights Education Associate. Additionally, in 2016, they completed a course at IECAH.
