Weihan Wang

Weihan Wang is a seasoned engineer and entrepreneur with extensive experience in technology and education. Currently serving as a Senior Staff Engineer and Senior Manager at Google, Weihan is involved in enhancing Spanner, a globally distributed database. As the Founder and President of the Visionary Education Foundation, Weihan supports Chinese college students by providing scholarships and mentorship to aid their development into future leaders. Additionally, Weihan holds a Board Member position at the SOAR Foundation, focused on improving educational opportunities in rural China, and is a Limited Partner at Essence Venture Capital, investing in early-stage IT infrastructure startups. Previous roles include VP of Engineering at Smarking Inc., Founder and CTO at AeroFS, and various engineering positions at OANDA, Sun Microsystems, and Koretide Inc. Educational achievements include a PhD candidacy at the University of Toronto and a Master's degree from the University of Waterloo.
